Sit back and enjoy a summer’s afternoon of musical favourites from stage and screen. After intergalactic battles from Star Wars, we’ll hop on the Hogwarts Express to 1950s New York for Maria and Tony’s West Side Story, then on to Arendelle for a fantastically Frozen adventure! Join us as we explore the world of film and musical theatre you know and love – including plenty of audience participation!
Cor8 is a London-based all-female French Horn octet comprising performers from each of the city’s music conservatoires. Formed in Spring 2018, the ensemble brings together musicians originally from England, Ireland, Scotland and Bulgaria, with a great passion for education and outreach. During the pandemic, Cor8 launched ‘Cor8 Horn Club’, a monthly club on Zoom bringing together horn players of all abilities and from all around the world, each session with a different theme involving bespoke arrangements to play along online, performance opportunities, breakout groups and games.
The ensemble’s name is a play on the term ‘quorate’; which is synonymous with diplomacy and equality – qualities that sit at the heart of the ethos of the ensemble
